The spirit of the visit was to strengthen cooperation between the two Organizations and to work specifically in building renewable energy projects for the benefit of the countries of the Region. As a result of this it was born the progress on the following projects:
a) Initiatives to Geothermal Energy Development in the Andean Region (Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru), considering the participation of countries like Iceland, Mexico and New Zealand whose experience is outstanding worldwide.
b) Use of Biomass waste for Power Generation in Ecuador and the Dominican Republic.
c) Stability of electrical systems for the incorporation of energy from renewable energy sources. In this regard it was planned to gather information and lessons learned from countries that already have experience in this area (Argentina and Peru) and disseminate them in a first stage, as well as to support in a second stage, to countries that do not have this methodology (Costa Rica, Ecuador and Honduras). Furthermore, it was planned to seek support from countries with extensive experience such as Germany, Denmark and Spain.
The welcome meeting was chaired by the Executive Secretary of OLADE, its Directors and the Manager of OLADE - CIDA Project, where synergies and common between the two organizations were ratified.
