Havana, November 15 (PL)- A delegation of the Bahamian Royal Defense Forces visits Cuba until November 18th to brace bilateral ties stressing on security.

The local Foreign Ministry says their meeting with Cuban brass has the purpose of expanding cooperation to fight drug and human trafficking.

Geographic location, especially their closeness to the US -the world's largest drug market and one of the main destinations for illegal immigrants- make both countries feel the pressures of these vices, all of which explain the bilateral anti-drug accord between Nassau and Havana.

Israel Ybarra, National Drug Enforcement Commission secretary, told Prensa Latina earlier this year that Cuba's international collaboration in these sectors is a priority today.

The also Justice Ministry official reminds that the government of Cuba has signed memorandums and agreements with more than 35 countries.
