More than 168 representatives of public institutions, private sector companies, Energy, CSR Agencies, Associations and NGOs participated and were trained in CSR issues.

Quito, March 13- OLADE, with support from the Canadian Cooperation held several national workshops on "Challenges, Opportunities and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)" in Nicaragua (February 19), Honduras (February 28) and Guatemala (March 6). The aim of the workshops was to promote dialogue, exchange of information and receive input from different national stakeholders for the preparation of a national strategy to leverage corporate social responsibility in the energy sector of the three Member Countries.
More than 168 representatives of public institutions, private sector companies, Energy, CSR Agencies, Associations and NGOs participated and were trained in CSR issues. The Minister of Energy and Mines of Nicaragua, Mr. Emilio Rappaccioli, Mr. Manuel Manzanares, Director General of Energy in Honduras and Mr. Edwin Rodas, Vice Minister of Energy of Guatemala welcomed the support offered by OLADE and agreed that CSR is necessary and appropriate for the major investments to be made in these countries, and with the participation and efforts of everyone, this can be a valuable tool to contribute to the economic and social development of communities in regard to environmental friendliness.
The workshops were conducted in coordination with the Ministry of Energy and Mines of Nicaragua, the Nicaraguan Union of Corporate Social Responsibility (UNIRSE), the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of Honduras, the Honduran Foundation for Corporate Social Responsibility (FUNDAHRSE) the Honduran Association of Renewable Energy Producers (AHPER), the Ministry of Energy and Mines of Guatemala, the Center for Corporate Social Responsibility (FOCUS) and the Association of Renewable Energy Generators of Guatemala (AGER).
