The Executive Secretary of OLADE, Victorio Oxilia, stressed the importance of the project and the significance of the cooperation of the Government of Canada for the development and continuation of the activities, services, projects and products that the organization makes available to its Member Countries in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Quito, April 25- The Second Meeting of the Steering Committee of OLADE - CIDA (Canadian International Development Agency) Cooperation Project on "Access to Sustainable Energy for Latin America and the Caribbean" was held at the headquarters of the Latin American Energy Organization on April, 23 and 24.
During the meeting the representatives of the Government of Canada - CIDA, Paul Ragusa, Oil and Gas Specialist, and Samuel Matheson, Development Officer of the Inter-American Program, reviewed the First Annual Progress Report of the Project, in conjunction with OLADE's management department and staff responsible for the projects.
This report was submitted by the Project Manager OLADE - CIDA, Byron Chiliquinga, the Gender Equality Advisory, Sissy Larrea and the Coordinator of the Sub-regional Office for the Caribbean, Jorge Asturias. It was also presented the work plan and objectives to be achieved on the second year of the Project.
The Executive Secretary of OLADE, Victorio Oxilia, stressed the importance of the project and the significance of the cooperation of the Government of Canada for the development and continuation of the activities, services, projects and products that the organization makes available to its Member Countries in Latin America and the Caribbean.
It should be noted the progress of three sub-projects presented with concrete results so far, namely: Gender Equality, Corporate Social Responsibility in Central America and Programmatic Clean Development Mechanism (pCDM) and Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions (NAMAs).
The first meeting of the Monitoring Committee was held on May 15 and 16, 2012, where the main guidelines of the Implementation Plan and the first Annual Work Plan were discussed and agreed. 21 projects of OLADE - CIDA Cooperation Program are currently under implementation.
